Highlights!
HIGH SCHOOL
I attended Savannah High School and was very involved in the Jazz Ensemble & the Choral groups. I owe a lot of my
vocal technique to Mr. Waterbrook who was an awesome teacher, conductor, and most of all a great vocalist. We did a lot of
cool stuff including a trip to Washington D.C. where we sang at the Whitehouse, in the Rose Garden(nationally televised) and
in the Rotunda. We also did the national anthem at an Atlanta Braves game (nationally televised). Theatrical interest also
began at this point when I performed the lead role in the The Wiz!
COLLEGE
Savannah State College was a great experience. I majored in Vocal performance. My greatest influences were : Vocals:
Dr. Willie Jackson , Piano: Dr. Jane Parker , Music Theory: Dr. Otto Becker , Acting Theory & Technique: Dr. R.L.Stevenson,
Performance in General: Dr. Ja Jahannes. I had several life changing encounters while at Savannah State, including a Master
Class with world renowned Jazz Pianist & Composer Billy Taylor. Many of my greatest life lessons concerning artistic integrity
and commitment to being the absolute best possible came from my 2 primary mentors Dr. R.L. Stevenson & Dr. Ja Jahannes through
direction, travel, performance & genuine friendship.
AFTER COLLEGE - TO PRESENT
Continued to tour with Jahannes & Company to many venues in the United States including Virgin Islands. Performed for sevaral
years with the Savannah Theater Company - Mini Repertory, performing Children's shows & Musical revues by day and Mainstage
shows in the evenings. I also Landed many major lead roles with the Hilton Head Playhouse including Big River, & Little Shop
of Horrors and Performed at a very successful Dinner theater (Broadway Musical Dinners) in Hilton Head for several years.
